On Thursday, BJ’s nephew had some high school ball games in Cortez, so we hopped in with MarDawn and spent the day over there.

We watched Landon’s game (they won . . .JV ended up taking 2nd in the tournament, and varisty took 1st . . .Go Broncos! It was fun to watch and take pictures for yearbook.)

We had a picnic in the park, and the kids thought it was great to feed . . .I mean chase . .. the ducks and geese.

We went to the rec center and the kids swam for 4 ½ hours!!!! Asa and Trey were there too, so there were plenty of kids to play with. (I think us and two other families from Blanding were the only ones there.)

A trip to Cortez wouldn’t be complete without a trip to Walmart – so we did a little shopping and headed home.

Friday we went to Cortez. MarDawn’s family and Tara’s family went also. We went bowling, which was super fun! The kids had a great time. Jensen and Jace were hilarious!! They seriously looked like Fred Flinstone - running super fast down the lane – it was great! I will try to get a video posted.

There is a LARGE cow/steer right by the bowling alley. The kids thought it was a “spy” and were pretending to be so scared of it. So . . . of course I had to take pictures!

It was WAY too cold to have a picnic, so we all went out to lunch. Then we went to the rec center, where the kids, again, had a TOTAL blast! They swam for 3 hours, and were super sad when we had to leave.

Spring Break in Reverse

The cows needed to come home off of the winter range, so we took the day Saturday to go ride, picnic, play, and have fun on our last day of spring break.

The weather was a little bit chilly in Blanding, but down on the range it was a perfect day! The kids rode in the morning and then a little bit in the evening before we went home. BJ and Preston rode all day.

The winter range is such a great spot for fun memories! The corral is in a canyon, so we are really protected from the wind. There are so many caves, cliffs, rocks, hills, and tress to climb, that the kids NEVER get bored. They all had so much fun playing! I love when they are able to use their own imaginations and play for HOURS!

We took hot dogs to roast, so the kids even had a good time cooking and eating! We ended up staying down there for so long that we thought we were going to have to get out the left-over hot dogs from lunch and cook them for dinner – and the kids were totally game for it!
